Dr. Matthias Braun is an industry expert in the field of pharmaceuticals, a consultant and an advisory board member. Until 2022, he was Managing Director for active ingredient production and manufacturing at Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland GmbH in Frankfurt.

The focus of his activities from 2012-2022 was Lean & Performance Programs in Frankfurt and the worldwide active ingredient production responsible for Sanofi at 15 locations.

From 2004-2011, he operationally managed the active ingredient locations Group Germany, Italy and India. The key points were reorientation after patent expiration and portfolio development with sustainable cost development.

Previously, he worked in various positions in pharmaceutical development in Germany and the USA in local and global organizations.

From 2010-2021, Dr. Matthias Braun contributed significantly to setting the course of a modern and future-proof industrial location in the shareholders’ committee of InfraServ Höchst GmbH. As chairman of the German Industry Association Biotechnology (DIB), he has stood up for this future industry for over ten years and campaigned for the industry on the VCI State Board of Hesse.

Dr. Matthias Braun now works as a consultant and interim manager and is involved in a start-up in the field of medicine. Dr. Braun studied chemistry at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, where he wrote his dissertation.
