Francesco De Meo was born in 1963 in the German Swabian Alb. As the son of an Italian guest worker and a German seamstress. He spent his childhood and youth alternately in Germany and Italy. Afer passing the two state examinatios in Law at the German University in Tübingen and obtaining his doctorate, he first worked as a lawyer and managing director of a German management consultancy. In 2000, he moved to Helios, a start-up as a hospital operator in Germany. From 2000 to 2023, Francesco De Meo developed the company globally into the leading #1 privately owned European hospital group. He did this from 2008 as CEO of Helios and the member of the board of directors of the DAX-listed Fresenius responsible for Fresenius Helios. At the age of 60, Francesco De Meo retired from the company. Today, he accompanies transformations in the healthcare sectors globally and start-ups in the healthcare business worldwide.
