Thomas Schmidt is an entrepreneur, supervisory board member and investor. From 2019 to 2024, he was CEO of the investment holding company Haniel, one of Germany’s oldest family-owned companies.
He was appointed to the Haniel Management Board in 2017 and was also Chairman of the Management Board of the portfolio company CWS until mid-2019. An academic engineer, he began his career in 1996 in various positions at the US company General Electric (GE) before moving to TE Connectivity in mid-2008 and becoming President of TE Industrial in July 2010.
